Soletron recently caught up with the folks at Premier Boutique in Palo Alto, California and had an opportunity to chat. Premier strives to provide customers with the latest casual trends in footwear and apparel. Premier also makes their own clothing, which you can find out about by visiting their website. Premier’s shop looks sharp too so if you’re around San Palo be sure to check it out and if not check their gear out online! Enjoy the interview:

How did your business get started?

"Premier Boutique started back in 2006. Our original store was in San Jose, California. We are now in Palo Alto, California. It started out of my interest in sneakers. I just wanted to be involved in the supply side of the business. I was interested in lower lever fashion I guess."

What would you say is the most unique aspect of your business?

"Well…we have a unique selection of shoes for our particular area. I would like to think we have something for everyone."

How long has the shop been open for?

"5 Years"

How many stores do you have?

"Just one location and an online store."

How many employees do you have and how many products do you sell?

"We have 4 part time employees and 2 owners that run the entire business."

Do you have any plans to expand? If so give us an idea of how you’d like to grow your business?

"No plans to expand at this time."

What are the hottest selling products you have to offer?

"Toms are the hottest selling footwear at the moment. It’s been that way for around a year."

Are there any up and coming brands that you think deserve to be mentioned?

"Nothing at the moment."

What do you think was the hottest sneaker dropped in 2011?

"Probably the Nike Air Mag and Jordan 11 Concord."

Do you have a favorite pair or brand of sneakers? If so what are they?

"I’m into Nike and Jordans pretty much. The infared Air Max 90’s and Jordan 3 Black/Cement are my 2 favs."

Have any celebrities come to your store? If so who?

"Occasionally….but it’s usually not planned. Ex major leaguer Kevin Mitchell (SF Giants), Cooking Channel Alton Brown, DJ Clue, and Redman (hip hop artist) have all been in at one time or another."

What do you like most about the sneakerhead culture?

"I guess it’s just the intensity people have about shoes. It’s incredible how much people are into it."

How does your business contribute to the sneakerhead community?

Well, I think we just offer another outlet to get some of the better shoes that come out.

Soletron just released the first ever sneakerhead comic book, what do you think about Soletron bringing retail to the comic book industry?

"That’s interesting… I will have to check it out. It’s the first I’ve heard."

We appreciate you taking the time with Soletron!
