According to a OneRepublic e-mail sent yesterday to members of their mailing list, the band will perform at Emory on March 24.

The e-mail stated, “OneRepublic will be going out on the road this March. Be sure to check them out in a city near you!” Atlanta, Ga., is listed for a March 24 performance at Emory University.

OneRepublic, a self-proclaimed genre-less band, is most famous for its song “Apologize,” as well as its recent song “Secret.”

The news spread quickly, as students posted the tour information on their Facebook pages last night. Speculation on whether or not the band would be the headliner for Dooley’s Week or Spring Band Party, both of which are hosted by the Student Programming Council (SPC), appeared as comments on the social networking site.

This year, Dooley’s Week is March 21 through 25. Last year, Dooley’s Week included comedian Kevin Nealon, a performance by Kid Cudi and Dooley’s Ball featuring mash-up artist Girl Talk.

The news that OneRepublic will perform at Emory has not been confirmed by SPC.

“We are currently in talks with all artists for the coming spring semester, and we are looking forward to making announcements to the Wheel in the coming weeks,” SPC President Erik Ward said.
